The Doctors
Dr. Dennis Balch, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
As a native of the California Bay Area, I have had the opportunity to live, study and work in several places. I was born in Walnut Creek November 5, 1968 and grew up in Pleasanton, California where my parents still reside. During my high school and early college years, I had the opportunity to travel the United States and Canada as a professional bicycle racer. I practiced diligently and was ranked nationally in the top 10 of all professionals. Throughout my time with this demanding sport, I incurred several aches, pains and injuries. Yet with my persistence passion for the sport, I sought out alternative therapies that would rehabilitate, maintain, and improve my health. This is when I first went to a chiropractor. It was an enlightening experience not only for my physical health but also for the start of my academic interest as a Chiropractor. At my first visit with the Chiropractor, I was experiencing tingling, and numbness in both of my arms and hands. With the spinal adjustments that I received, I found relief and also learned the cause of my symptoms, dis-ease and how natural care could help, with the only side effect being better HEALTH. It is my sincere hope that I could return the favor of health and understanding to others.
In my educational career, I majored in Biology at California State University of Sacramento. During that time I obtained experience as an Emergency Medical Technician and interned at a Chiropractic Office. It was great opportunity to interact with the doctor, staff and patients. I obtained my formal education in chiropractic at Palmer Chiropractic College in Santa Clara, California and graduated in 1996. During that time I participated in the community clinic and interned with several of the most successful Chiropractors in the Bay Area to further develop my clinical techniques. After graduating with my doctorate degree, I have continually sought out opportunities to learn more so that I could in turn share more information with my patients. I have attained post-graduate credentials as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (C.C.S.P.) and as a Certified Chiropractor in Spinal Trauma (C.C.S.T.). I have also received a licensure from the Department of Health Services of California as an X-ray supervisor and operator.
After working as a Chiropractic preceptor in 1996, I formed my own private practice (Balch Chiropractic) from 1997 to 2000. In 2000, I joined with two fellow colleagues to form a joint private practice, "Alliance Chiropractic".
In addition, I am the staff chiropractic doctor for Prime-Time Athletic Club of Burlingame
www.PrimetimeAthleticClub.com. I present health talks during their seasonal speaker series and am also available for consultations to members on Tuesday evenings (by appointment).
I am one of only a select few Chiropractors credentialed with Physician's Integrated Medical Group,
www.pimg-inc.com. I am credentialed with the Mills-Peninsula Medical Group, the largest multi-specialty medical group on the peninsula, serving 70,000 HMO patients in San Mateo County
www.mpmg.com.
On the personal side, I married my wife Cheryl on August 19, 2000.She studied Physiology at UC Davis for her Bachelors' and her Masters' in Nutrition at San Jose State College. She assists me with providing nutritional advice for my patients and providing health workshops, lectures and assessments for individuals and groups. I am also blessed with two active boys; our first son Nicholas was born June 8, 2003, and our second son, Nathan was born April 26, 2006. They both receive chiropractic adjustments regularly since birth. I also provided my wife with chiropractic treatments during her pregnancy. I am trained with the In Utero Constraint method to ease common difficulties incurred during pregnancy. Chiropractic treatment is gentle and effective for the entire family. I look forward to providing quality care and education to all those in need.
Dr. Eric Isero, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
I have lived and worked on the Peninsula my entire life.I grew up in Los Altos and graduated from Saint Francis High School in Mountain View. After graduation I attended UCLA and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Science in 1992.Also while at UCLA I met my beautiful wife of 12 years, Alicia. She also happened to be a Peninsula native so things worked out quite nicely in that department.
After UCLA I began my full-time studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose.During the summers while in school I worked at the Stanford Executive Program, managing their wine tasting program. That is where I developed my love of good wine.I completed the curriculum at Palmer in 1996 and began my career as a Chiropractor.
Right out of school I started working in the office of Dr. Ron Oler who both educated and inspired me.Not only had he been in practice for over 26 years, but he also had the opportunity to treat Joe Montana and many other of the San Francisco 49ers during their heyday in the 1980’s.
After two years I opened my own family practice, Isero Chiropractic, close to my home in San Mateo.I spent seven happy years there where I operated a successful solo office. My five minute walk to work also allowed me to spend an enormous time with my family and I enjoyed being involved with the community.
In 2006 I knew that it was time to expand and decided to relocate to Alliance Chiropractic in Millbrae. Also in 2006 I opened up a satellite Chiropractic clinic inside of Heptagon Fitness (
www.heptagonfitness.com) in Palo Alto, a beautiful 10,000 sq. foot personal training facility complete with a kickboxing ring and massage therapy.
I have always been interested in sports.Growing up I always played football, soccer, and baseball. In High School I played both offense and defense for the WCAL Champion Lancers as well as wrestled. In college I continued to participate in athletics through weight lifting and playing on intramural teams in water polo, softball, football, and rugby.I have also acted as the team chiropractor for the National Champion San Francisco City College Rams.I still enjoy skiing, running and hiking and greatly appreciate the outdoors.
My introduction to Chiropractic began in college. At the time I was experiencing chronic severe back pain.I was working in a physical therapy clinic and the exercises and rehabilitation offered there did little to reduce my symptoms. What did work for me was Chiropractic.A friend of mine was attending Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and encouraged me to go to the school clinic.Within a few visits my chronic pain had completely cleared up!
On a personal note, I am especially fortunate to have two terrific children:Jacqueline (8) and Spencer (5) They are my constant joy and give purpose to my life. Family is very important to me and I like to stay heavily involved with them both at home and at their schools and in sports.
I participate with most HMO and PPO plans. This list includes Kaiser, Aetna, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross, Health Net, Cigna, and Pacificare. I am the only chiropractor in Millbrae contracted with Landmark (lmhealthcare.com). Many other plans not listed here accepted, including workers' compensation and union plans. Personal injury cases are taken on a lien basis. Affordable cash plans always available.
